This week in AVID we were preparing for
our philosophical meeting Friday. We prepared by having a mini
philosophical meeting on a topic we had to prepare for Friday, about
if kids should be on reality TV shows. At the beginning mostly everyone
had said kids shouldn't be on reality TV show. I chose no because it
would take time away from there school work and by being on reality can
expose the child's private life. Then Jorvin made a good point he said
"what if your shy, by being on reality TV it can help you get friends," that's
when I was undecided. Ny-khaiya said "your friends probably only want your
money," then I said "well you might find one true friend that doesn't want your
money," that changed a lot of people mind on if kids should be on reality TV or
if they shouldn't. Something I had trouble doing was waiting for two people
on my side to speak before I could talk again because I really wanted to defend
my side. I enjoyed listening to my other AVID classmates reasons for there
decision, and I also liked reading what we were going to discuss about in our
meeting. My goals that I were proud of this week was doing the extra work and
taking the extra time to bring my grades back up.
